first time mom to be – christine

little micah was still sitting pretty in mom’s tummy in the beginning of feb. i delivered his mom’s maternity photos today and actually got to meet the occupant of the bump… quite a bit earlier than everybody expected.

he arrived this week… cute as a button and already the king of stretching.

this kid has got it made – an incredibly doting dad, who is not afraid to wash and iron, and a supermom who does everything from office to creative to studies and… let’s face it, is gorgeous beyond belief.

in my short visit today he had two other visitors: granny and uncle george, who in the few minutes i was there couldn’t keep their eyes off of him and showered him with the most gushing affection.

micah – i know it was super comfy in there – but i tell you, you’re gonna have it good out here with us.

thanks to kevin for all the setup work he did during the shoot (and the cleaning up!) and to christine for allowing us to do something new and interesting – it is not easy to be body painted and shunted up and down when you are heavily pregnant!

thanks to suna for amazing styling and make up once again.

lastly, thanks to the Lord, who has His angels’ hand’s full with me (climbing onto second story roofs over balconies and gripping vertical ladders with my toes trying stay put in the about-to-be-unleashed rain, just to get the shot) for allowing me to come out alive on the other side.

for those who know my shoots well – it seems “duck”lips” has transcended the bounds of couple shoots and are personified here (or should i say duck-ified here) by kevin…

irish + greek = proudly south african

the amazing sheep that sounds like: rain, a stream, the ocean and a whale (note: not a sheep) – sounds weird, but apparently works wonders!
a tribute to christine’s greek heritage, we couldn’t resist these beautiful teals, aquas and greens (necklaces from amatuli – sellers of exploratory wonders… http://www.amatuli.co.za)

yes, i know – you can’t even see her bump here… but do me a favour and just for a minute appreciate this girl’s movie star looks…

kenyan beaded necklace from amatuli.co.za – of course as the name suggests, meant to be worn around the neck. we however, had some different ideas… – a proudly african little lion awaiting his entrance into the wild, wild world.

here, sans necklace, you can better appreciate the body painting. thanks again christine for allowing us to let our minds wander. albeit in green paint around your body parts 🙂
